Groupe TAI
Groupe TAI was a French based, international group delivering Reinforced Earth and associated technologies into the world-wide civil engineering market. By 2000, Groupe TAI comprised some 400 employees in 30 companies and 8 licencees in more than 60 countries. By then, some 25,000 structures had been constructed with these technologies and the annual turnover exceeded US$100M From 1996, Malcolm was Pacific Regional Director, responsible for the group activity in Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Northern Asia and Japan. He assisted in market and project development in the region with a particular focus on the adaption of commercial strategies for both developed and developing markets. In this role he was a member of the Groupe TAI Executive Committee (COMEX) which was responsible for the strategic development of the group, budgeting and planning and interaction between the regions. From 1996, Malcolm was also Group Technical Services Manager with responsibilities for development and implementation of technical transfer programmes to existing and new markets In this role, he was also a member (and for a time, Chairman) of the group’s technical committee (COMTECH), which was responsible for product development strategy and implementation of R&D programmes in all countries.
